Scorship expands management focus

The Hamburg ship management joint venture Scorship Tankers is expanding its focus of activities to include bulkers and is renaming itself Scorship Navigation, writes Katrin Berkenkopf.
Scorship was established in 2005 by KG house König & Cie with Monaco ship managers Scorpio Shipping. To date, the joint venture manages ten product tankers. The first of five bulkers for the company will be delivered in September this year.
In the short term, Scorship Navigation wants to manage a fleet of around 20 vessels.
“Through the expansion of its business field, Scorship Navigations meets the growing requirements of the market”, said managing director Jens Mahnke.
The move comes as German KG financiers are increasingly looking at bulker investments.
